Why is gravity so special?

🎯 Calling all physics enthusiasts, ages 13+ (adults welcome too!)

🌍 A few years ago, in NASA's Space Power Facility, in a 12-story-tall vacuum chamber used to test spacecraft, a heavy bowling ball 🎳 and a feather 🪶 were dropped together. It was mind-blowing 🤯 to see them fall together and hit the ground at exactly the same time!

But wait! What about our gut feeling that heavier objects should fall faster? 🤔 Newton also told us that the gravitational force tugs harder at more massive objects. Yet the falling ball 🎳 and feather 🪶 did not seem to care at all about which one was heavier!

What is the secret behind this apparently strange behaviour? 🧐 Will things change if we electrically charge ⚡ the objects? We will explore these questions and many more in this session to discover why gravity is so special! 🌌
